Information is an essential input to any individual's development. The modern library has a great responsibility in harnessing and utilizing information. The Sasurie Central Library strives for a high quality of library services which emphasize the actual delivery of information rather than the actual delivery of documents to meet the generic as well as specific needs of users.
At present the Library occupies a total floor area of 800 Sq.mt. and has seating for 160. The Sasurie Academy of Engineering has a collection of 22,562 books, 100 Periodicals are subscribed to provide latest information on the various subjects of study. All the books are classified and arranged as per the DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) System.
This Section contains a collection of about 21,469 books; Users can locate the required in the stock section. All the books are entered in to the Accession Register and get signature from the principal. The books are classified as per the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) System.
This Section contains a collection of about 1,093 books, 300 Back Volumes. It’s containing Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, General Manual, Gate Books, Donated Books etc.; the reference books must be consulted in the library itself. It should not be taken out of the library. All library users may obtain the books from the reference shelves with the guidance of librarian.
All the students and staff are provided with bar code stickers affixed on their Identity Card. Circulation Services (issue, return and renewal) are fully computerized with bar code facility. All the books are affixed with barcode based on the Accession Number issuing through AUTOLIB Software. An open access system is followed here and users can take the books from the book section.
This Section contains 100 Periodicals and 7 Dailies, 500 Online Journals also available. All the Periodicals are entered in to the Periodical Register.
This Section contains DELNET Consortium Online Journals are available. DELNET (Developing Library Network) is used for the ILL (Inter Library Loan) provide more than 500 International Online Journals for each department. NPTEL Download video courses available. The users should sign in the Digital Library Register before using this Section.
Retrieval is done through title, author, and publisher. List of Subject heads along with Classification numbers are displayed in front Portion of every rack.
